Mischa Anne Marsden Barton was born on January 24, 1986, in born in Hammersmith, London, England. Her father, Paul Marsden Barton, is English, and her mother, Nuala Quinn is Irish. She has an older sister, Zoe, and a younger sister, Hania.
The family moved to New York City when Barton was just five years old, and she eventually became a naturalized citizen of the United States, though she still retains her British citizenship as well. She attended the Professional Children's School in Manhattan, and she graduated in 2004.
Barton first began acting at nine years old, working in many Broadway plays. She soon was cast in films, including The Sixth Sense, and Notting Hill. No, my ears aren't pierced. I've though about having them done a few times, and almost done it a couple of times - but I'm such a chicken when it comes to pain and backed out each time! I'd like to get them done, because it can be so difficult getting good clip-ons, and I guess I probably will at some point, but no, they're not pierced at the moment.
I guess nothing lets a guy know that you trust him more than allowing him to chop your head off with a guillotine and run a huge circular saw through your waist! The first time we rehearsed the tricks, it was quite scary, especially the first time the guillotine blade fell and my head tumbled into the basket. But I soon got used to it and started to enjoy the sensation of the blades going though me and being in two pieces - Being sawed in half is actually quite a sexy feeling!
It definitely does still feel a bit strange to have them done, and I'm still getting used to changing earrings - It still feels really weird to be pushing bits of metal through holes in my earlobes that weren't there a few weeks back, and actually seeing and feeling the holes in my lobes is still a bit freaky. But I'm slowly getting used to having pierced ears, and I'm glad I did get them done because I'm having loads of fun buying and trying all different kinds of earrings.
