Detective Nicholas O'Malley is Kate's partner. Two years ago, his partner was killed on the job by a Link. Since then, he has made it his mission to destroy Links, or, as he often calls them, scum. He enjoys the violence that is necessary for his job, and is, in his own words, "emotionally unavailable." He's always at odds with Carl, with whom he has a very antagonistic relationship after Carl stole Nick's stripper-girlfriend. He respects Kate as a partner but considers her a bit too cerebral, although he acknowledges she makes up for his weaknesses in that area. Nick is skilled with all sorts of firearms, although his aim with a bazooka leaves a little to be desired, and is good in hand-to-hand as well as wielding a mean machete. |
