David Soul was appearing in a musical revue when he was spotted by a talent scout and signed to a studio contract. He appeared in various television shows including Flipper, I Dream of Jeannie and Star Trek. In 1968, he landed a role as one of the brothers in Here Come the Brides. Numerous other roles followed in hit shows like All In The Family and The Streets of San Francisco.
In 1973, he landed a role as a corrupt cop in the second "Dirty Harry" film, Magnum Force starring Clint Eastwood. The part brought him to the attention of the developers of a new television series and he was cast as Det. Ken "Hutch" Hutchinson in Starsky & Hutch. After the series ended after four successful years, Soul went on to appear and star in mini-series like The Manions of America, made for tv films like Salem's Lot and television series like The Young Riders and Murder, She Wrote.
Soul has also achieved success as a singer, recording several albums and number one hits.
He continues to act on television, in films and on stage while remaining a political and social activist with interests in HIV education and world hunger. He currently makes his home in the United Kingdom where he's toured in a production of Ira Levin's Deathtrap and directed and starred in a production of Sam Shepard's Fool For Love at the Edinburgh Festival in 2000.
