Eddie Izzard was born in 1962 in England. His stand-up style is chaotic, eccentric and unique. Izzard is well known in the USA and Great Britain as a stand-up comedian. He has been appearing in quite a few prominent films as well (such as Oceans Twelve, Oceans Thirteen, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and Valkyrie), but always in the supporting cast. For his work on television he has been awarded with Emmy.

His big screen career started somewhat recently, in 1996 with the film The Secret Agent. His style was influenced a lot by Monty Python, which is very well seen in his streams of consciousness, where he bounces off of various topics, not always interrelated. He is a dyslexic and thus he does not use script in his routines. He interrupts himself with new jokes as he speaks; the characters he portrays become other characters all of a sudden. As a result there are silence moments in his monologues, when Eddie is ready to turn to something else.

Quite often he notes what the public at his gigs say and puts it down in his little notepad. Apart from his stand-up routines and TV and big screen appearance he also plays in the theater. Eddie is known for his charity work as well as for his transvestite persona.
