Born to Alan George Radcliffe and Marcia Jeannine Gresham on July 23, 1989, Daniel Radcliffe was an only child. Raised without religion due to his parents conflicting beliefs, Daniel wanted to act from the age of 5. He was educated at two independent boys schools until he found it too difficult to continue with his new found fame after appearing in the 'Harry Potter' films, he ended up been tutored on set and sitting three A Level exams all of which he gained an A Grade in.
Whilst his parents tried to discourage him from his acting career, he got the part as the young 'David Cooperfield' in the 1999 BBC adaptation of the same name. He also played the role of Mark Pendel in the 2001 movie 'Tailor of Panama'.
At the age of just 11, Daniel secured the role he has become most famous for playing the titular role in all eight 'Harry Potter' films (2001-2011). Daniel appeared on the stage in the 2007 New York and London productions of 'Equus' in the lead role Alan Strang. He also appeared in the 2007 film 'December Boys' as Maps, he also appeared in the lead role in the 2007 TV movie 'My Boy Jack' as Jack Kipling. He went onto play J. Pierrepont Fitch in the 2011 revival of the musical 'How to Succeed in Business without really Trying'. After appearing in the lead role in the 2012 film 'The Woman in Black'. He appeared in the second series of Sky Arts 'Playhouse Presents' as a young Dr. Vladimir Bomgard.
He has made various appearances on various comedy shows both in the UK and the US and will appear in the 2013 films 'Kill Your Darlings' as Allen Ginsberg, 'The F Word' as Wallace and 'Horns' as Ig Perrish.

Daniel has two dogs, named Binka and Nugget. Binka is a female version of Binker, which was a dog in A.A. Milne's stories. Nugget was named after chicken nuggets!
Dan has A grade A Level qualifications in English Literature, History, and Religion and Philosophy.

Filming the fourth 'Harry Potter' movie 'Goblet of Fire', Dan had to spend six months training followed by 3 weeks training in a tank to film the underwater scene. It took so long because they had to film in small increments, because since Harry grew gills, Radcliffe had to hold his breath the whole time. He suffered two ear infections during the filming.
On July 9, 2007, Dan was honored along-side his Harry Potter co-stars, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, where their hands, feet, and wands were immortalized in front Grauman's Chinese Theater on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
