Early Life
John David Damon (AKA Johnny Damon) was born on November 5, 1973, in Fort Riley, Kansas, to Yome and Jimmy Damon. Johnny was born on an army base, considering his father was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. Once, his father left the Army, hs family settled in Orlando, Florida.
Baseball Career
In the 1992 amateur draft, Johnny was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the first round. From 1995-2000, he played for the Royals. In 2001, he was part of the Oakland A's (Athletics) club. He played for the Boston Red Sox from 2002-2005, and officially became a New York Yankee on December 20, 2005 when he signed a contract with them.
