Grant-Lee Phillips is a singer/songwriter from Stockton, California. In the early 1990s, Grant, along with Paul Kimble and Joey Peters formed the band Grant Lee Buffalo. With this band Grant released four albums, Fuzzy (1993), Mighty Joe Moon (1994), Copperopolis (1996), and Jubilee (1998). In 1995, Rolling Stone magazine voted Grant best male vocalist.
After the release of their fourth album, the band decided to split up and Grant started a successful solo career. Since the start of his solo career, Grant has released three albums, Ladies Love Oracle (2000), Mobilize (2001), Virginia Creeper (2004), and his newest album, NINETEENEIGHTEES, is expected to be released in the summer of 2006.
Grant can currently be seen on Gilmore Girls as the town troubadour. |
