Keyshia Cole was born on October 24, 1982 in Oakland, California. Keyshia knew from childhood that she wanted to become a musician. Her first recordings were with MC Hammer at the age of 12. To further upgrade her career, she left the Bay Area and moved to Los Angeles, California. In L.A., she was discovered and signed by the president of A&M Records, Ron Fair.
