Festus is an easy going and simple kind of man who is a deputy sharrif of Dodge City.
He is Matt's right hand man and is a very reliable friend that would give his life for his friends.

He is very long winded and likes to tell tall stories that sometimes get on Doc's nerves. He likes to squint one eye when he is thinking hard and prefers mules over horses any day of the week. Although others may find him a bit funny at times, Festus is very loyal and good with a gun. He is an important asset to keeping Dodge City safe. Though illiterate, Festus possesses a good deal of common sense and often out-smarts those who seek to take advantage of him.
