Harry Shearer was born in 1943 in Los Angeles, California. He first appeared with the classic Abbott and Costello in "Abbott and Costello go to Mars" in 1953 followed by "The Robe". Probably best known for his Saturday Night live gigs, his NPR satire program "Le Show" and "The Simpsons" where he plays 17 characters. His best film may be _This is Spinal Tap (1984)_ where he played Derek Smalls on the bass. There was also an episode on the Simpson's where he reprised this role. Also appeared in Godzilla where other Simpsons cast members Hank Azaria & Nancy Cartwright appeared. Harry Shearer has also directed a film, Teddy Bears' Picnic (2002), in which he also stars.
