He is also an anthropologist and is on the advisory board of BBC Wildlife magazine.
 
Attenborough was educated at Wyggeston Grammar School for Boys.
 
After working briefly for a publishing company, Attenborough joined the BBC's newly formed television service in 1952.
 
In his series, Attenborough rarely explicitly speaks about the mechanisms of evolution, except in Life on Earth, which was an entire series explicitly on the evolution of life.
 
He is an Atheist.
