Jet was formed in 2001 by members Nic Cester, Chris Cester, Cameron Muncey, and Mark Wilson. Their band was named after the Wings' song "Jet". After playing gigs in Melbourne, the band released their first album in 2003 called Get Born. Singles off of this album, "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and "Rollover DJ" were instant hits, landing Jet six ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) music awards, including single and album of the year.
Their second album, Shine On was released in 2006, and "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" reached the top 20 on both Australian and US music charts.
