Deanna Casaluce (born in 1986 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian actress most noted for playing the character Alex on Degrassi: The Next Generation. Alex is portrayed as a punk, who hangs out with her friends Jay and Sean. After Rick is killed in Time Stands Still, a more sensitive side of Alex is shown when she is seen implying to Jay he needs to admit he rigged the quiz show trap. Deanna has just been given an official starring credit on Degrassi for season 5. She has guest starred in every episode she has appeared in up until season 5. In Season 5, we see a new and shocking side to Alex.
