Miley Cyrus, sometimes credited as Destiny Cyrus, was born on November 23, 1992 to Leticia (Tish) Cyrus, and famous singer and actor, Billy Ray Cyrus. She has had a guest starring role on her father's TV show, Doc, and she has appeared in the movie, Big Fish. She recently landed the starring role of Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on Disney Channel's new series, Hannah Montana, where she plays a girl who lives a secret life as a famous pop star unknown to her friends at school. She will act alongside her father who will play her father/manager on the series. Hannah Montana premiered on March 24, 2006 on Disney Channel and had the highest rated premiere to date for an original series on that channel. She is currently enjoying the huge success of the Hannah Montana Season 1 Soundtrack which was released on October 24, 2006 and has taken the Billboard charts by storm debuting at #1 and going on to sell a total of over 3 Million albums as of now! Miley also finished working on her debut album which released on June 26, 2007 on Hollywood Records packaged with the Hannah Montana Season 2 Soundtrack featuring 10 Hannah Montana songs and 10 songs released under her real name to launch her solo career. In October 2007, Miley embarked on a 54-city tour as both Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus to help promote the Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus album as well as the show. This concert tour proved to be so popular, however, that it was extended from its orginal 54-city run to conclude at the end of January 2008 and was also recorded and released as a movie under Walt Disney Pictures for a one week run in theatres from February 1-7, 2008. It is currently set to be released as a CD/DVD combo on April 15, 2008. Miley will soon begin filming a new movie in which she will co-star with fellow Disney Channel star Raven-Symone to be released to theaters sometime in 2008 under Walt Disney Pictures.
