Mark was born in London, served in the British Army and now creates and produces some of the most successful reality shows seen around the world. After getting out of the army in 1982, he moved to Los Angeles and held insignificant jobs until he got interested in adventure racing.
He started the Eco-Challenge, which is now the biggest adventure race in the world. He bought the rights to Survivor, and made the American version of that show a hit throughout the world. He has also created and produced The Apprentice, The Contender, Rock Star and others.
He is currently in a live-in relationship with actress Roma Downey, and he has two sons from a previous marriage.
