Dennis Haysbert

General Information (Dennis Haysbert)

Mostly Credited As: Dennis Haysbert
Birth Name: Dennis Dexter Haysbert
Date Of Birth: June 02, 1954 (Age 55)
Country Of Birth: USA
Birth Place: San Mateo, California
Height: 6' 4 ½" (1.94 m)
Spouse
Lynn Griffith (1) 1989 - 2001 (divorced) (2 children)
Elena Simms Apr/13/1980 - 1984 (divorced)

One of nine siblings, Dennis Haybert surprisingly went into acting when his pure stature (6'4'' feet) would have easily given him numerous scholarships to join a collegiate team. Nonetheless, Haysbert opted to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Since then, Haysbert can be seen in numerous works over the years, as far back as a guest star of The White Shadow in 1979. Other guest starring roles include Laverne & Shirley, Magnum P.I., Buck Rogers, and Saturday Night Live.

However, his most famous (and successful) roles to date include 24's President David Palmer, and The Unit's Jonas Blane. He's also the Official Spokesman of Allstate, with the coined term, "Are you in good hands?"

He is currently divorced and has two children

Film credits include:

Major League (1989)
Love Field (1992)
Major Leage II (1994)
Waiting to Exhale (1995)
Far From Heaven (2002)
Jarhead (2005)
Goodbye Bafana (2006)
