Andrea Roth was born on September 30, 1967 in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. Her parents are Dutch and Scottish, and she is a first generation Canadian. She went to college and also held a position as an intern at an advertising agency. While still in college, a modeling scout spotted her and she began working as a print and runway model, which naturally led to acting.
She had many small guest parts in television shows such as
Alfred Hitchcock Presents,
Murder She Wrote, and
Highlander. Her first notable role was co-starring with Sally Field in the miniseries,
A Woman of Independent Means in 1995. More parts followed in higher profile shows, such as
Law & Order, and
CSI.
She is currently starring with Denis Leary on the television drama,
Rescue Me, on FX.
