Mary Beth Rubens was born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Her mother founded The Kingston Summer School of the Arts. At age 13 she played a showgirl in “Gypsy.” Attended Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec, initially enrolled in a science program until early in her first semester she won a lead role in “The Threepenny Opera” and switched her major to theatre. She was trained as a classical ballet dancer and danced professionally for 13 years and won a Toronto Dance Theatre Scholarship. Before her first year at The University was complete, she turned professional and toured with Festival Lennoxville. Mary Beth made her film debut in "Prom Night" (1980) with Jamie Lee Curtis. Spent several months at The Norman Jewison Canadian Film Centre as a resident actor and grip before she landed the role of Bobbi on the tv series “E.N.G.” She was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Gemini Award for “E.N.G.” in 1990.
