Richard Anderson, best known for his role on The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman, was born on August 8, 1926 in Long Branch, New Jersey. After a stint in the army, Anderson began his extensive acting career in the 1949 film Twelve O'Clock High. In addition to his well-known roles, Anderson has had an extensive television career, with numerous starring roles and guest star appearances.

In addition to his television career, Anderson has appeared in several films and made-for-TV movies. He was also the spokesman for Shell Oil Company from 1976 to 1982 and was known as "The Shell Answer Man".
