Trivia

The band went through several names and spellings before landing on the name The Beatles, in honor of one of their musical heroes, Buddy Holly and the Crickets. The first name the band came up with was The Blackjacks, which lasted all of one day.

Other names and spellings used by The Beatles were The Quarrymen, Johnny & The Moondogs,The Beatals, The Silver Beats, Long John & The Silver Beetles, The Silver Beatals, The Silver Beetles and The Silver Beatles.

The Beatles formed in 1957 in Liverpool, England. They officially dissolved the performing band in 1970. The Beatles as a corporation still exists to this day and brings in millions of dollars in profits every year.

The Beatles were paid $25,000.00 per appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. This was half of what Elvis Preseley was paid.

The Beatles Quotes
