Chris Fountain grew up raised in a single parent household by his mum. He was born on the 3rd September 1987. After appearing in small parts in 'Bob and Rose', 'Blood Strangers', 'Where the Heart Is', 'The Royal' and 'Burn It'. Chris went onto play Justin Burton on Channel 4 soap 'Hollyoaks' between 2003 and 2009.

He appeared in 2006 on BBC reality show 'Just the Two Of Us'. He was also a contestant and eventual runner-up on ITV reality series 'Dancing on Ice' in 2008 and went onto the tour. He appeared in a small role for one episode of 'Casualty' in 2010 and played PC Paul Tait in the second series of BBC drama 'Five Days'. He played the title role in 'Aladdin' at the Manchester Opera House in the panto season in 2009-2010 and joined the cast of the musical 'Departure Lounge'. It was announced late into 2010 that Chris would be joining the cast of 'Coronation Street' and had taken over the role of Tommy Duckworth, previously played by Darryl Edwards (1992-1997) and Joseph Aston (2000). In 2013 Chris videos of Chris wearing a balaclava under an alias hit the headlines as they showed him rapping both racist and sexist lyrics as well as comments towards raping women and killing people. The producers at 'Coronation Street' terminated Chris' contract and wrote him out of any future story-lines.

Chris has been nominated for various awards throughout his time on the soaps he has been in. In 2005 he was nominated for 'Best Dramatic performance by a young actor/actress' for his part in 'Hollyoaks'. He was also nominated for this part in the 2006 'British Soap Awards' for Sexiest Male and the 2006 'National Television Awards' for Most Popular actor.
