Apart from her work on screen, she also has a career on stage, including Royal Shakespeare Company productions, and records drama for BBC Radio.

Lynsey won the Best Actress Award at the Monte Carlo Film and Television Festival 1991 for the movie Starlings. Her latest major role is as Sarah Belzoni in the British mini-series Egypt (2005).
