Ben made his acting debut at the age of 12 when he played the role of Jesus in a pagent at the Catholic School he attended.
 
Ben's father passed away when he (Ben) was only 8 years old.
 
Before becoming an actor, Ben toiled as a master carpenter for the Welsh National Opera Company.
