Uncle Chuck was a knight in King Acorn’s court and he raised Sonic during the peaceful years of his life. However, Uncle Chuck was also the creator of the roboticizer, the machine that Dr. Robotnik stole and used in order to raise to power. Uncle Chuck had wanted to use the roboticizer to help permit the elderly to live longer, though when he discovered that it robbed the individual of free will, he had attempted to destroy the project. Uncle Chuck was one of the first individuals to be roboticized after Dr. Robotnik’s coup, though Sonic and his friends eventually found Uncle Chuck ten years after he was roboticized. While Uncle Chuck wasn’t able to control his actions since he was roboticized, the group eventually discovered that they could temporarily restore his free will through the use of a power ring. It wasn’t until the second season when Uncle Chuck fully regained his humanity and decided to supply the Freedom Fighters information from inside Robotropolis.
