Born in Seattle, Jean Smart has starred in various shows over the years, including Reggie and Designing Women. Lately she has contributed her voice to many animated shows, ranging from Batman: The Animated Series, Static Shock, Hey Arnold, and The Oblongs. However, her longest performance as a voice actress has been with the Disney comedy, Kim Possible, where she stars as Kim Possible's mother, Dr. Possible.
To date, Jean Smart's most brilliant performance may just be one of her most recent, as First Lady Martha Logan on the hit FOX drama, 24. As the First Lady, Smart was recently nominated as for Outstanging Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Smart is currently married to Richard Gilliland, a former co-star from Designing Women. They have one son, Conner.
Smart returned to the role of Martha Logan in one episode thus far in the sixth season of 24, though for how long remains uncertain.
