Hawthorne Heights

General Information (Hawthorne Heights)

Mostly Credited As: Hawthorne Heights
Sometimes Credited As: A Day In The Life
Date Of Birth: June, 2001
Country Of Birth: USA
Birth Place: Dayton, Ohio

Originally known as A Day In The Life, Hawthorne Heights was formed in Dayton, Ohio in June, 2001.

While most rock bands only have two guitarists, Hawthorne Heights has three, which lends itself to having a bit of a distinct sound and gives the band some unique guitar harmonies and melodies. It also allows for easier transitions into different parts of songs.

Hawthorne Heights started out playing on several different tours alongside bands such as Coheed And Cambria, Descendants, and From Autumn To Ashes. In late 2003, the band signed to Victory Records.

Over a four week period, their first album, The Silence in Black and White, was recorded. When it was released, it broke the record for most copies sold in the first week for a debut album, beating even Taking Back Sunday with 3,458 albums sold. The band toured with Silverstein, and record sales continued to impress.

Their sophomore album, If Only You Were Lonely, was produced by David Bendeth, who worked with bands such as Towers of London and Breaking Benjamin. The album expands on the ground the first album set, drifting away from the emo tracks they are known for.

After their second album was completed, the band set off on tour with Aiden, Bayside, and Silverstein, visiting North America and the United Kingdom in their “Never Sleep Again Tour.” A sold-out performance at the House of Blues is scheduled to be released on DVD later this year.
