Mitch Pileggi is an American actor, and was born on April 5, 1952 in Portland, Oregon. Pileggi's most well-known role is as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner on the 90's sci-fi phenomenon The X-Files. Another notable role for Mitch was as body-hopping serial killer Horace Pinker in 1989's Shocker. The film has gone on to be seen as a fun guilty pleasure by the horror crowd. He also served as host of the Sci-Fi Channel's revival of the investigative series In Search Of... Outside of those, Pileggi has an impeccable resume as a TV guest star, appearing on shows as varied as ER, Law & Order: SVU, The West Wing, CSI, Sons Of Anarchy, and of course as Sam & Dean's grandfather on Supernatural.
