The character Max Schneider (played by Rick Moranis) in the animated series Gravedale High is named after Rick Schneider.

The character Cranston the Goat in Warner Bros. animated feature Cats Don't Dance is based on Rick Schneider.
<p>
Rick got his start in family entertainment at age 14, by designing and building "The Neighborhood of Make Believe" sets for a stage performance featuring the cast of Mister Rogers. At the close of the show he was called on stage and presented with a super 8 moviola by producer, David Newell, better known as postman Mr. McFeely.
<p>
Though Rick made his own animated films while still in his early teens, his first professional experience in animation came by creating cartoon characters for advertising campaigns for General Mills and KFC.
