The Beach Boys formed in 1961 while they were still in High School in Hawthorne, California. During High School there were known as "Carl & The Passions", "Kenny & The Cadets" and "The Pendletones". Original members consisted of the following:

Brian Wilson - Bass & Keyboards
Carl Wilson - Guitar
Dennis Wilson - Drums
Mike Love (cousin of the Wilson brothers) - Lead vocals & Saxophone
Al Jardine - Guitar

Glen Campbell was briefly a member of the group in 1964
Bruce Johnston joined the goup in 1965
