It's a bright sunny day in Pallet Town. A bell rings in Professor Oak's lab and so Tracey goes to answer it. He opens the door and he sees a Pikachu standing in front of it. Pikachu smiles and Richie introduces himself. Hearing his name before, Tracey assumes that the Pikachu is Sparky. Tracey lets them in and he gives Richie a drink. Tracey asks of why Richie is here and Richie says that he needs advice from the Professor for evolving his Eevee. The Japanese version of the final scene is completely different from the English version (as seen in the above summary). While the English version has Professor Oak wanting to set up a security system, and Tracey and Ritchie wanting to appear on I Wouldn't Eat That if I Were You, the Japanese version has Oak explaining to Tracey and Ritchie that Team Rocket captured him because he knows about Pokérus. Then, as Mary shows up, Oak, Tracey, and Ritchie decide to head off home to Pallet Town, and not once does Ritchie make any mention of his Eevee, nor do he and Tracey say anything about appearing on I Wouldn't Eat That if I Were You.
