Project UFO

A fact-based series about U.S.A.F inquiries into reported sighting of unidentified flying objects. Like Jack Webb's past efforts. "Project
U.F.O." is based on actual incidents, the files of the Air Force's now cancelled Project Blue Book. Blue Book, created in 1947, investigated more than 12.000 reported UFO sightings. By the time the Air Force shut it down in 1969. only 701 of the reports were still unexplained.

Carl Youngstrom, a caretaker for senatorial candidate Frederick Flanagan, is working on a doll house for his granddaughter when his room is filled with the "heavenly glow" of an alien craft.
Stepping outside to investigate, Youngstrom is confronted by two aliens, who proffer an alabaster jug they wished filled with water. In

1x8: Sighting 4008: The Desert Springs Incident recap: An immense flying object pursues theatrical agent Dave Chapman and motion picture writer Mike Kirby as they ride down from the top of a mountain in an aerial tram at the California resort of Desert Springs, in "Sighting 4008: The Desert Springs Incident," on Jack Webb's fact-based "Project UFO". The vehicle, over 100 feet in diameter with a red-hot underside, appears to be attacking the tram. When the power fails and the men are trapped halfway down the mountain, the UFO bathes them in an intense while light.
Major Jake Gatlin and Sergeant Harry Fitz investigate the sighting. They also took into the case of elderly Emma Smith. She claims
she has been offered a trip to Venus by two "aliens." She says they promise to take her to her husband... read more.

1x3: Sighting 4003: The Fremont Incident recap: The actual sighting and chase of an undentified flying object by "Project U.F.O." producer Col. William T. Coleman, USAF (Retired) is recreated in "Sighting 4003: The Fremont Incident" on NBC-TVs fact-based "Project U.F.O.".
Major Jake Gatlin (William Jordan) recalls the time he sighted a silvery disk and chased it in a B-25 bomber. He tells his Project Blue
Book partner, S-Sgt. Harry Fitz (Caskey Swaim) how he got to within one-eighth of a mile of the object, which was 60 feet in diameter and 10 feet thick at its center. The incident is based on an actual sighting of a UFO by Colonel Coleman in 1954. That sighting remains unexplained to this day. Coleman was named head of the Air Force's Project Blue Book — Force's Project Blue Book — which investigates UFO sightings — in 1961.
Also, black police officer Robert Lee Armstrong (Rod Perry) is ridiculed by friends and other cops when he says he saw the landing of a strange, alien craft from which two figures resembling human astronauts emerged... read more.
