reZONED: Indiana Conservatory, Washington Church, Wyoming Department Store, Iowa Pig Barn

Al Ruckriegel and David Adams took a massive rundown building in downtown Terre Haute, Ind., and turned it into a spacious home featuring a ballroom, movie theater and huge saltwater aquarium. Artists Karen Guzak and Warner Blake bought the old St. Michael's Catholic Church in Snohomish, Wash., and spend six years turning it into a home and art studio. Sam and Connie Street turn the 24,000-square-foot Stevens Fryberger Department Store in downtown Sheridan, Wyo., into a pretty nice place to live. Sherri and Ray McKee bought an old swine barn and two acres of land for $1, then set about creating their retirement home featuring a formal dining room in the old grain bin.
