They also hire on Agostina Vega played by Nia Peeples and a bunch of Mexicans to help them move the herd. The series was so popular that it brought about more sequels like Lonesome Dove: The Series in 1994 and Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years a made for TV Movie in 1995. It is also said that the TV mini-series Streets of Laredo in 1995 and Dead Man’s Walk a TV mini-series broadcast in 1996 were also spawned from the Lonesome Dove series as well.
