seaQuest DSV

Nathan Bridger is dragged reluctantly back into government service after grieving for his son's death in the military. He is assigned to command the UEO’s submersible ship the seaQuest. The mission is to investigate and monitor the Earth’s oceans’ environs. Along the way the way they meet many life threatening situations.

Amongst Captain Bridger’s many challenges is to take care of Lucas Wolenczak, a young computer genius, who has created a communications system that enables vocal communication with dolphins.
Capt. Bridger must also work with, but rein in his military first officer, Jonathan Ford, while trying to keep the mission a scientific one. He has to also keep an eye on several of the other officers for a variety of reasons, including a black-marketing officer who has a past relationship with another seaQuest officer.

The opening narration for season one:
“The twenty first century; mankind has colonized the last unexplored region on Earth, the ocean. As The Captain of the seaQuest and its crew, we are its guardians, for beneath the surface lies the future.”
