  Episode Summary  
A maverick scientist needs the seaQuest in order to research subsurface volcanic flows by using probes into “black smokers.” However, contact with the toxins associated with these “black smokers” imperils Darwin. The team must delay the research, in order to try to save Darwin’s life.
