After returning from a two year mission to Mars, the Wayfarer capsule crashes into the ocean at six times the safe speed. The capsule then begins to sink; and seaQuest must rush to try to rescue any survivors. The rescue is hampered by internal conflicts among the leaders of the government of territorial waters the capsule lands in. To make matters worse, Bridger’s competitiveness and past competition with the capsule’s commander leads to questions about his genuine effort to rescue the capsules crew.

| Technical Consultant Bob Ballard’s ending comment:
Hello, I’m Bob Ballard from the Woods Hole Institution. Research carried out in space not only investigates other planets, but tells us a great deal about Earth. In August of 1992, the Tolpec Poseidon satellite was launched into orbit, circling Earth every hundred and twelve minutes, at an altitude of eight hundred and fifty miles. Using a radar altimeter, this satellite is now mapping the great mountain ranges beneath the sea. Join us on the next exciting episode of seaQuest DSV. |
