The seaQuest, the newest, most advanced military submarine every constructed, has been given over to the United Earth Ocean organization. Its designer and creator, retired Navy officer Nathan Bridger, is brought onboard to view the creation he had left unfinished after his only son died in combat. Bridger wants nothing to do with the military now, but reluctantly visits his creation, now set up as mix of military and scientific crew.
When seaQuest comes under attack from a disgraced Navy Captain, Bridger is forced to take command of the boat in order to save the ship and crew from this deadly threat.

Episode Notes |

Opening opine by President John F. Kennedy:
It’s because, ah, we all came from the sea, and it is interesting biological fact, that all of us have in our veins, the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean. And therefore, ah, we salt in our blood and sweat and our tears. We are tied to the ocean. When we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail, or to watch it, that we are going back to once we came. | The opposing submarine is described as the “Delta 4 – Pirate Submarine.” | The seaQuest’s remote probes that are called W.S.K.R.S (pronounced "whiskers") stands for Wireless Satellite Knowledge Retrieval System. | Technical Consultant Bob Ballard was credited, but did not give an ending comment on this pilot episode. |
