Something is wrong with a country that imprisons as many people as we do. We're No. 1 in the world! As of 2006 a record 7 MILLION people were behind bars, on probation, or on parole. 2.2 MILLION were in jail.
The US prison population has quadrupled since 1980. The year Ronald Reagan took office.
