Founded in 1938, The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) has thousands of documentaries, live action films and animated shorts by and about Canadians. Although many of the animated shorts have been nominated for and won Oscars, very few of them had been shown in the United States.
In 1997, The Cartoon Network began to show some of these animated shorts under the title O Canada
. It was later canceled and replaced by Adult Swim
