An appropriately ambitious montage kicks off the series, with various people pleading their case. "I'll be the best!" Throw in some T&A, more zany clippage and a guy dancing in a tutu. Cue opening credits.
Enter show host Dina Pugliese. Dina explains the gist of the series: Much searched the country far and wide,
twenty semifinalists will compete in a sudden death challenge and ten will be eliminated. The survivors will live in total harmony (ha) in a penthouse and compete for the ultimate job: MuchMusic VJ.
We get a taste of what the future VJ will immediately find themselves immersed in: live madness. Suddenly Master T is on the screen! And Steve Anthony! And Christopher Ward! And Erica Ehm! Tips are given, reminiscing ensues. Slowly, semifinalists are revealed. Now for the real dirt - hilarious roadshow footage.
As we travel across the country, we see gems such as the guy who bungee jumped in his speedo
the one who hammered a nail into his nose, and the girl who headbanged all the way off the stage.
We check in with Leah in Edmonton (playing with cheerleaders!), Devon in Winnipeg (with his lookalike!),Sarah in Ottawa (admiring boots!) and Matte out east (eating a banana!).
And now back to the auditions, where it is confirmed (by us) that 85% of people danced at some point,
and more girls got naked than previously believed. However, boys still trumped the girls in unnecessary nudity. Incidentally, three semifinalists were either partially or entirely nude during their audition. We end majestically with a recap of the finalists and a wave from Dina. And scene.
