Caprica is a spinoff prequel which takes place over 50 years before Battlestar Galactica. In a society of peace, the Twelve Colonies are on the verge of a major technological breakthrough - merging artificial intelligence with a mechanical body to create the first Cylon. Following the lives of two families, the Adamas and the Graystones, Caprica blends action with corporate conspiracy and sexual politics.
Caprica, the anticipated prequel to .Battlestar Galactica,. will have its world premiere exclusively on DVD on April 21, 2009 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. In a groundbreaking move, the feature-length prequel will be available on DVD as a limited-edition uncut and unrated version before the series broadcast premiere on the Sci Fi channel in 2010.
