|
An armored truck delivers a shipment of Turkish piasters to a vault until their return to Turkey. But the young lady who receives them is none other than Simon The Pieman's beautiful moll Charlotte! Meanwhile, Barbara Gordon, on behalf of the mayor, inspects Mother Goose's Pastry Park for kiddies for authenticity. Mother Goose herself conducts the tour, but in the refreshment stand, Barbara discovers Mother Goose is none other than Simon! He's convinced that Commissioner Gordon will keep the police away if he fears for his daughter's life. Despite Simon's many attempts to do in the three crime fighters: slippery whipped cream, slow-motion potion, dynamite, boiling soup, exploding turnover and giant piezoelectric crystals, they outwit the perfidious pastry chef and recover the piasters.

| Piezoelectricity is a real phenomenon, and it works more or less as Simon describes it: pressure on a crystal produces electrical current. The reverse is also true: electrical current distorts the shape of piezoelectric crystals. However, it is useless as a means of generating electrical power; it doesn't operate on that scale. It sees application in weight sensors (electrical impulses generated by pressure) and in solid state devices that convert electricity into sound (electrical impulses induce vibrations). Some cell phone ringers exploit this principal.

Simon the Pieman: Simon says, tie her up! Commissioner Gordon won't come near us while we're holding his daughter.
