By the summer of 1986, Nick finds himself living out his dreams, safely installed as a member of the Fedden household and a player on the London gay scene. His boyfriend Wani keeps their affair under wraps, desperate to protect his family name, but as Mrs Thatcher guests at Gerald and Rachel's silver wedding party Nick's world begins to crumble.

The year is 1987 and Mrs Thatcher has again been returned to power. Political scandal engulfs the Fedden house and revelations about Nick force a confrontation with family members.
