Tommy Saxondale is an ex-roadie with anger management issues and his own pest control business in Stevenage. Having survived a hostile divorce, Tommy now lives with his girlfriend Magz, proprietress of anarchic t-shirt shop Smash the System. Tommy regards himself as a maverick and free thinker and takes the opportunity to impart his wisdom to his naïve assistant Raymond.

But as well as Pharaohs Ants, mice and, occasionally, moths, Tommy also has to battle with snowboarding idiots, pigeon-loving activists... and people who talk about property prices.
