Kitty Pryde meets Professor Charles Xavier, who informs her that she is a mutant, someone with extraordinary powers. While Wolverine objects to her joining the X-Men, everyone else welcomes her with open arms. They’re warm welcome is quickly overshadowed by a mutant terrorist alert, which causes the X-Men to leave the mansion. It turns out to be a ruse, created by Pyro and the Blob, to lure the X-Men away from the mansion so Magneto and Juggernaut could steal Cerebro’s power circuit. He is successful in doing so. He plans to use this technology to direct the comet Scorpio at the Planet Earth, to destroy the majority of the human population, which will make the human race a minority.
