1x2: Stop the Ashura army recap: The second episode begins where the last one left off with Koji still having trouble controlling Mazinger Z. This time Sayaka is able to help Koji. Dr. Hell sees the two robots now onscreen and realizes Dr. Kabuto even from the dead has come to mess with him with these two machines. Koji eventually exits Mazinger and Sayaka, Shiro, Koji and Professor Yumi are introduced to one another. They learn about Kabuto’s murder. Professor Yumi finds Kabuto’s notes and goes into a long flashback. The flashback shows that Dr. Hell, late Kabuto were actually all associates at one time. Dr. Hell , Kabuto are on some expedition. They find some ancient robots. Dr. Hell and Kabuto rebuild the robots but Dr. Hell plans to use the robots to kill everyone in the island. Kabuto is the only survivor to escape from his scientific expedition. In his last notes , Kabuto talks about building the Mazinger to counter Dr. Hell’s plans. Back to present they see Dr. Hell’s robots destroying the city. Koji wants to go and fight but Yumi thinks he needs more practicie. Nonetheless Koji and Sayaka pilot their robots to try and do something. Koji at first manages to dodge the attacks of the two robots, but one of the robots engulfs Mazinger in flames. Koji temporarily passes out , but in a strange daydream sees his dead Grandfather talk to him and to fight. Koji eventually regains his composure to defeat the robots by simple luck of pressing Mazinger’s buttons. Sayaka piloting the Aphrodite is hurt and put in a temporary hospital. 1x1: Birth of the Wondrous Robot recap: Dr. Kabuto, Koji’s Grandfather and head of Research Institute shows his latest inventions and then retires. Dr. Hell sees this and plans to unleash his terrorist actions in the world starting with Kabuto’s assassination. He orders the kill of Kabuto and his assistant. Under Baron Ashler (an assassin who has a half man/half woman face) , Kabuto’s assistant is killed and Kabuto’s address is tracked down The plant explosives at Kabuto’s address. Kabuto has an underground lab hidden underneath the house. However, the debris from the explosion pin him down and cause severe injury. Koji arrives as his Grandfather gives his last dying words. He gives him a letter and tell him to look around the corner. Koji finds Mazinger Z. Dr. Kabuto gives him orders about how to control with a special flying ship into Mazinger’s head. Koji has much difficulty in understanding the controls of Mazinger Z almost killing his brother Shiro by accident. Sayaka the daughter of one of Kabuto’s friends, Professor Yumi, is shown piloting another robot and saves Shiro.
