Acclaimed Irish actor Patrick McGoohan stars as Dr. Sidney "Sid" Rafferty, a retired U.S. Army doctor now running his own practice with two other doctors. Rafferty was an anti-social curmudgeon with a difficult personality and was often prone to making morally dubious medical decisions. Despite these minor faults, he has a brilliant mind ans is a highly skilled diagnostician. In many ways, it was a forerunner of the acclaimed, Emmy Award-nominated series House starring Hugh Laurie, which debuted in 2004. Despite being critically acclaimed the series was cancelled after a single thirteen episode season.
