Oban Star-Racers

Set in the year 2082, ambitious 15 year-old Eva, feeling abandoned by her father, leaves boarding school to find him. When she does, he doesn't even recognize her. She decides to become a mechanic working for him, under the name "Molly". She accidentally stows away on Earth's entry into The Great Race of Oban, a race of intergalactic proportions. The victor will be granted any wish, including bringing a loved one back from the dead. She busies herself making new friends and allies from other planets in order to win the ultimate prize.
