“Gladiators 2000” was a spin-off from the series “American Gladiators” but with children instead of adults. It was set up basically the same way as a game show/competition series and only appeared in syndication. The competition was between 2 teams that both had 1 girl and 1 boy on them between the ages of 10 and 13. The events were modified and made a lot easier from the original series.
Some of the original Gladiators were seen on the show and were coaches and either advisors or adversaries as the need arose. The events that were used on this version included the Assault, the Eliminator, the Slingshot, the Wall and a new event called the Food Pyramid. Besides competing in the events/obstacles the children also had to answer questions on many different topics. This series had 3 co-hosts that included Ryan Seacrest who was 20 years old, Maria Sansone who was only 13 years old at the time and Valarie Rae Miller who was 20 years old. The series aired weekly for 2 seasons and a total of 52 new episodes.
