Produced by Filmation, the Archies Comedy Hour was based on the Archie comics which were made up of five teens from Riverdale High School and their band. The namesake of the band is clean cut Archie Andrews; his best friend Jughead Jones; wiseguy Reggie Mantle; spoiled-rich brunette Veronica Lodge; and attractive, blonde, girl-next-door tomboy Betty Cooper.
This cartoon was the first to use a laugh track on a Saturday morning. The show lasted 17 episodes.
